Some fellow writers and I decided to head out to the country for a writing retreat. We wanted quiet, plenty of space, clean facilities, a good kitchen, and enough social gathering areas for a group to work together. Lavender Lace was perfect. Lavender Lace is a precious and meticulously clean cottage with plenty of space for a group. We found so many great perks, like well stocked teas, a bag of carrots to feed the animals, and good quality soaps, etc. The location requires a car to get to, but for as far out in the country as it feels, you're only ten minutes from a major grocery store. The furniture is comfortable, the area is quiet, and the sunset view off the back porch is gorgeous. This is a perfect place to get away from it all for a few days. We were all adults, but with amenities such as a bike, fire pit, toys, gaming system, and animals in the back, I think children would find find plenty to do (and I say this as a mom of two). There are two things you may want to consider (neither of which caused any issue for our party). First is that while the cabin has room to sleep like nine people (it'd be crowded, but doable), there are only two bathrooms, one up the stairs and one you get to by going through one of the bedrooms. With our smaller party that was never an issue, but for large groups it could get awkward. The second is that there is no internet (though cell service worked perfectly fine). We solved this by renting a pocket wireless for the weekend, so it wasn't a big deal. But if you know you'll need internet (which... writers; we need internet), you'll need to bring it yourself. Overall, I give this place high marks. I use AirBnB frequently, and I've never stayed at a cleaner place. Plus, while it looks cute in the pictures, unlike a lot of places, it's even better looking in real life. Jenna and Paul are friendly, quick to respond, and had everything set and ready for us to have an excellent weekend in the country. Thanks!
